Knights of the Borrowed Dark

2016 Specsaver's Children's Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards

2017 UNESCO Dublin Citywide Read

KNIGHTS OF THE BORROWED DARK is a YA trilogy about a secret war between a race of shapeshifting, misery-eating, occasionally-waistcoat-wearing monsters and the warriors sworn to stop them.

And then there's thirteen year old Denizen Hardwick, who'd quite like everyone to slow down and explain what exactly is happening and why can’t he just be left alone with a book. He's read books where thirteen-year olds have to do things. It never ends well for anybody.

Praise for Knights of the Borrowed Dark

‘Funny & scary, my two favourites… Dave Rudden is not just a rising star, he’s a shooting star.’

Eoin Colfer - author of Artemis Fowl

‘Atmospheric, action-packed and powerfully imagined.’

The Sunday Times

‘Clear some time in your schedule before you read this, because once you start it is very difficult to stop.’

Joseph Fink - Welcome to Nightvale

‘A magical debut.’

The Guardian

‘Beautifully written… … Rudden has the eye and ear of an artist.’

The Irish Independent

‘The world of flashy new series-based YA is very, very crowded waters at the moment – Knights Of The Borrowed Dark is a great big vicious shark that leaps out of the water at you. This could be huge.’

Rick O’Shea - RTÉ Radio 1

‘The stuff of nightmares – in the best possible way.’

Isabelle Broom - Heat Magazine
